What is Invisalign?

How does it work?

Invisalign® uses computer-aided 3D/CAD/CAM graphic design technology to virtually reposition misaligned teeth, create a plan, and track the entire treatment from start to finish so you can see roughly what your teeth are expected to look like at the end of treatment. A series of clear splints (aligners) are made according to this plan and are individual to each patient. Each splint advances the teeth gradually and is worn for 1- 2 weeks and then the next splint is placed. In this way, step by step, the teeth are moved to the desired position. The result is perfectly aligned teeth without any discomfort.

Is the treatment effective?

The fabrication of the aligners combines the treating orthodontist's knowledge of the complexities of the case, treatment approaches, and the biomechanics of tooth movement with state-of-the-art computer graphic design technology to create a treatment plan. The end result is guaranteed and visible from the initial diagnosis and determination of the course of treatment.

How long should I wear the aligners?

The treatment period depends on the individual needs of each patient. On average, treatment takes between 9 and 18 months. Three easy steps to the smile you want!

Once the orthodontist confirms that the treatment is right for you, plain and x-rays and dental impressions will be taken. This data will be used to create a 3D treatment plan, called ClinCheck, which is tailored to your individual needs.

Once the treatment plan is approved, Align Technology will custom fabricate a series of aligners that will be delivered to your orthodontist's office. Follow his instructions.
